Horizon Education Alliance’s 11-year run as the backbone organization for Triple P Elkhart County ended July 1, but the parenting support program continues across the region through community partners and trained providers.

A Decade of Community Impact

Over 11 years, Triple P — Positive Parenting Program — Elkhart County built extraordinary reach and partnership within the community. Triple P is an internationally renowned, evidence-based system of parent support interventions designed in the 1980s at the University of Queensland, Australia. Community partners piloted Triple P in Elkhart County in 2015, and since then, the initiative:

• Partnered with approximately 150 entities across northern Indiana
• Delivered more than 11,000 Triple P interventions to parents and caregivers
• Trained 200 professionals, including social workers, church leaders, mental health professionals and school counselors
• Reached 2,000 interventions in the final fiscal year alone — a record that reflects continued community need and commitment

“This work has always been about building a stronger community by strengthening families,” said Leah Plank, director of Triple P Elkhart County. “The impact we achieved belongs to every practitioner who offered support, every partner who opened their doors and every parent who showed up and invested in their family. That foundation will continue to benefit our community.”

Triple P Support Continues in the Community

While HEA’s operational role is ending as part of the organization’s increased focus on career-related education, Triple P programming remains accessible across Elkhart County through multiple avenues:

• Beacon Health Community Impact will continue offering Triple P for Baby Online to new and expectant parents across Elkhart and Saint Joseph County.
• The SOURCE will provide Triple P for Baby workshop sessions and groups, while maintaining a partnership with Goshen College Music Together to support early relational health in babies’ development via a grant from Early Learning Indiana.
• Blossom Forge, an LLC established by Training and Implementation Coordinator Trisha Lightfoot, will offer evidence-based strategies and learning opportunities for parents and professionals across the community. Visit blossom-forge.com for more information.
• Trained Triple P providers remain active across schools, community organizations, and local institutions, continuing to deliver support where parents and caregivers already gather.

Gratitude to Community Partners

HEA extends deep gratitude to the many organizations whose partnership and financial investment made Triple P accessible across the region: Community Foundation of Elkhart County, all seven county public school districts, Beacon Health Community Impact, Early Learning Indiana, Iris Family Services, Geminus, the Bontrager Family Foundation, the Well Foundation and The SOURCE.
