Triple P Positive Parenting Program
As part of its Child and Family support, HEA has facilitated the introduction of Triple P parenting programs throughout the County. Triple P provides parenting support at different levels of intensity at multiple locations throughout the community. The program encourages parents to choose strategies that work for them and helps parents apply the skills they learn through parenting struggles so they become self-sufficient and confident parents.
El Sistema Music Initiative
The HEA Child and Family Network identified the El Sistema as an important Pilot program to encourage musical engagement for the healthy social, cognitive, and physical development of our youth. El Sistema is a philosophy designed to “use ensemble music to enable every child to experience being an asset to her or his community.” Although many accomplished musicians have started their journey in El Sistema programs, its primary focus is to build communities through music.
EL (Expeditionary Learning) Education is a whole school design model that combines challenging project-focused academics with a strong focus on character and building habits of scholarship. EL Education schools create school environments that promote deep engagement in learning and high levels of student achievement. Students in EL schools take active roles in their classrooms and communities, fostering subject-area mastery and 21st-century skills that are critical to college readiness and lifelong success.
