In the 2019 survey of Elkhart County Project-Based Learning (PBL) students, 88% of students agreed or strongly agreed that “My participation in project-based learning helped me see the connection between classroom learning and the business world.”

82% of local teachers felt PBL was an effective or very effective strategy for developing students’ ability to think creatively. 88% felt that PBL was effective or very effective for overall “soft skills” development in students- e.g., behavior, attitude, motivation, communication.

PBL is a teaching method where students gain knowledge and skills by investigating and responding to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, or challenge. In Elkhart County, PBL is also "Industry-Infused", meaning local industry sectors partner with educators all year long to bring relevancy into the classroom projects.
